Top 5 Plant Podcasts to Listen To
I’m obsessed with plants, and I’m also a huge podcast fan. So, when I can combine the two? Absolute perfection.
But let’s be real—I’m picky about my podcasts. I want something that grabs my attention, teaches me something new, and makes me think. If you’re the same way, you’re in the right place! Here are some of my favorite plant-related podcasts that I think you’ll love too.
1. The Market Gardener Podcast

This one’s hands down my favorite to listen to while watering my plants or working on a client’s garden. Hosted by Jean-Martin Fortier—yes, the same guy who wrote The Market Gardener and The Winter Market Gardener—this podcast is packed with amazing insights into sustainable farming.
Jean-Martin chats with farmers from all over the world about topics like small-scale farming, urban agriculture, soil health, eco-friendly growing techniques, must-have tools, and more. Even if you don’t grow food on a large scale, his insights are super inspiring. If you care about sustainable food and want to hear from real farmers making it happen, this is a must-listen. Check it out on Spotify.
2. In Defense of Plants Podcast

This one is a goldmine for plant lovers. Hosted by Matt Candeias, In Defense of Plants covers everything from houseplants to giant trees and entire ecosystems. If it’s green and grows, he’s probably talked about it.
One of my favorite episodes is Episode 491 - Plants & Wetland Restoration, where Matt breaks down why wetlands are so crucial to our planet and how protecting them helps all of us. If you love learning about the science behind plants and ecosystems, you’ll get hooked on this one. Trust me, give it a listen!

They also bring in expert guests, so you get a mix of practical advice and nerdy deep dives. Whether you’re a newbie or have a full-blown jungle in your home, these guys have something for you. Check out their episodes here.

I had to include at least one French-language podcast since I’m from Montreal! Une Chance Qu’on Sème is an amazing resource for anyone interested in sustainable farming and gardening in Quebec.
Hosts Pierre-Luc Houde and Pierre-Antoine Gilbert tackle everything from seed planning and soil science to hybrid species and interviews with local farmers. It’s a great way to learn about growing food in our climate and hear from people actually making a difference. If you’re in Quebec and want to deepen your plant knowledge, definitely check this one out! Listen here.
In Summary..
Whether you’re into houseplants, veggie gardens, or large-scale farming, these podcasts will keep you learning and inspired. They’ve helped me so much in my plant journey, and I hope they do the same for you.
